EDGE OF OUTSIDE FRAME IS 1-3/4" X 1-3/8" inches. Both frames together are mounted on exhibition sheet 8 1/2 X 11"
inches. LARGE IMAGE IS A BLOWUP OF SMALL FRAMES HOLDING HAIR. Hair is approximately 1/8th to 1/16 of an inch
and clearly visible. "FUNK AND WAGNALL'S DICTIONARY" DESCRIBES A RELIC AS "A REMAINING TRACE" OF A

The historic note pictured reads: "September 21,1867. Mrs. Howell gave me this lock of hair today in the presence of
Jefferson Davis. It was cut from his head during confignment in Fortress Monroe. Mrs Howell is the mother in law of
President Davis. Mrs Jefferson Davis was also present at the time, Thos Plascide." Signed handerkerchief originally
came with this lot and is pictured as a reference. Comes with 10 pages of certification and provenance.
